Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

From The Confessions of Catherine de Medici by C.W. Gortner:

"I wanted to lay eyes on the infamous Catherine de Medici and find out if everything they say is true, if they call you Madame la Serpente because, like a snake, your bite kills your enemies."  I took a step forward, not caring in that moment if she consented to the marriage or dropped dead at my feet.

      First off I want to say wonderful blog! I had a quick question that I'd like to ask if you
      do not mind. I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your head prior to writing.
      I have had trouble clearing my mind in getting my ideas out there.
      I do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like
      the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be wasted simply just trying
      to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints? Appreciate it!
